Running quality
Running Quality is the first metric you see after an assessment. It represents an overall score that compares three subcomponents, dynamic stability, impact loading, and symmetry, against other runners.
This provides a clear and practical overview when communicating results to your clients.
1. Impact loading
Impact Loading is the first subcomponent of Running Quality and a key kinetic metric. It measures both the overall peak load on the body (impact magnitude) and how quickly this load is absorbed (impact duration).
2. Dynamic stability
Dynamic Stability measures the side-to-side acceleration of the hips and is a key metric for assessing a runner’s coordination and hip control. It is strongly associated with overuse injuries and plays an important role in overall running efficiency.
3. Symmetry
Analyzing symmetry is an important aspect of injury assessment. It is essential to understand when asymmetries are relevant and how they present in relation to injury.
Spatiotemporal metrics
Spatiotemporal metrics, such as cadence, ground contact time, and flight ratio, help us understand how a runner moves. These metrics provide valuable insight into the runner’s loading behaviour and are useful tools for making adjustments through real-time biofeedback.
